As you can imagine, the editors at OSV are fairly deluged with manuscripts — between the Newsweekly, the periodicals, and our book lines. It wasn’t unusual to see an editor’s desk buried in envelopes or for their email inbox to be swamped with queries, proposals, articles and manuscripts.
That’s why we turned to an online submission management site that many other publishers are using called Submittable to help our editors better serve our writers and manage their workloads.
Using Submittable is simple, and saves you time, too. Here’s a link to a “How do I submit?” page that gives you an overview. Basically, you’ll:
- Visit this link. (You’ll find our writer’s guidelines there, too.)
- Read through them. At the bottom of the page, fill out the form and click “Submit.”
- At the bottom of the next page, fill out the title, enter your cover letter, and upload your query.
- Hit “Submit” (or “Save Draft” if you’re not quite ready to commit).
That’s it! You’ll be invited to create an account (although you don’t have to) but it will save time for future submissions.
Our editors will receive notifications of your submission, and you’ll receive an email letting us know you submitted successfully.
The editors will get back to you in a in 6-8 weeks.
